End of April, Early May is spawning time

Florida opened grouper in the gulf earlier than the Atlantic and I had a weather window so I ran out to the last hot spot. The location that was packed with fish last month had none. I was already 40 miles out, Wind waves were 7 inches with a 1 inch white cap and a 1/2 foot swell every couple minuets so I went 12 miles further out to a contour line on the chart that looked interesting. The spot was absolutely packed with large true red snapper in 7 pound class. I got tired of sorting through them and did not photo but here is what the sounder showed.
Red Snapper is closed because there are so many they need to be protected from sport fishing!

Yes it's only 120 feet deep 50 miles out. Ended the day with the fish in the photo below. This is considered a great catch here but there is much bigger things down there.
Going to re adjust the gear for the large predators that are sure to join the party. That is because all of the fish I caught were packed full of eggs and will spawn soon.
